We now educate some of the best and brightest minds of our time. Nine of 10 Aquinas applicants recommended by our Pre-med Advisory Committee are admitted to medical school; 19 of 20 Aquinas applicants are accepted into other graduate programs. And 98% of our graduates report entering the workforce or grad school within six months of graduation.
Students get experiential learning opportunities through our overseas Semester in Ireland Program, by living and working on an Indian reservation in Montana or by volunteering their service in hundreds of different volunteer opportunities.

College Description
Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Aquinas College enjoys all of the advantages of Michigan's second largest city, and is just a three-hour drive from Detroit or Chicago.
Founded in 1886 by the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids, Aquinas has a Catholic heritage and a Christian tradition. The Dominican tradition of working and serving remains alive at Aquinas It is lived out by Aquinas students who volunteer their time and talents as close to home as Grand Rapids, and as far away as Haiti.
Aquinas is a coeducational liberal arts college with an enrollment of 2,458 students, including 1,265 full-time, 616 part-time and 577 graduate students.
An Aquinas education makes graduates more employable. Each year, over 200 Aquinas students find internships in business, health care, government and social service organizations to name a few.
Academic Life
Aquinas College offers over 40 majors and 11 different degree programs. At Aquinas, a liberal arts education is seen as career preparation. AQuest, the general education plan equips students with the necessary skills to become critical thinkers, articulate speakers, strong writers and effective problem solvers. Aquinas faculty members insist that students carry values as well as skills into the workplace. The college's curriculum is designed to provide students with both breadth and depth, and to foster a thirst for knowledge and truth and a spirit of intellectual dialog and inquiry.
In addition to their major fields of study, students take an integrated skills course called Inquiry and Expression. This course spans the entire freshman year and has an emphasis on writing, integrated with reading critically, oral communication skills, critical thinking, library/electronic research methods, computer utilization, and basic quantitative reasoning.
Campus Life
Aquinas College believes that students should have balance in their lives. Aside from the rigors of the classroom, students have an opportunity to explore many extra and co-curricular opportunities. Student activities are abundant with something to meet the needs of any students outside interests. Grand Rapids is the educational, cultural and entertainment center of west Michigan. The city is one of the fastest growing in the Great Lakes region. Students have access to such venues as the Gerald Ford presidential museum, the Van Andel public museum, an expanded zoo, a minor league baseball team, an IHL Hockey team, and a CBA basketball team. There are name concerts, performances, ethnic festivals and a multitude of restaurants, theaters and shops.
On Aquinas' Campus you will find students participating in intercollegiate and intramural sports. Outdoor recreation via canoe trips, ski trips and bike trips are popular with the students. With over 30 student organizations, there is never a loss for things to do on-campus.
Facilities and Resources
The Woodhouse Library resources include a public access catalog, audiovisual materials, circulation and course reserve material, reference services, and interlibrary loan services (free access to more than 27 million books and documents from Libraries across the country. Computer Labs and remote labs are available for student use seven days a week. Albertus Magnus Hall of Science features the Baldwin Observatory. Other facilities include the Cook Carriage House; a newly renovated student Center; and the Art and Music Center, featuring a dark room, a 200 seat recital hall, an art gallery and a sculpture studio. The future calls for the construction of an on-campus theater, an addition to the fieldhouse for state of the art fitness facilities, and a new Library/technology center for student and faculty research.
The Aquinas Saints are affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and are part of the Wolverine Hoosier athletic conference. Our sports colors are red and white and in the last decade we have had 48 All Americans and 27 Academic All Americans. We field 18 Varsity sports for men and women, and athletic scholarships are available.
Men's baseball has long been regarded as one of the best NAIA programs in the country. The team has won the WHAC conference championship, and has had several alumni sign professional contracts.
In addition to baseball, men's basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, cross-country, and track and field are offered. For women, Basketball, softball, Volleyball, soccer, tennis, track and field, cross country, golf and cheerleading.

Financial Aid
Aquinas awards both merit based financial assistance and traditional need based assistance to qualified students. The Spectrum Scholarship Program was developed to recognize student's achievements in academics, leadership and service. More than 50% of entering freshmen receive some form of financial assistance. The college administers the traditional grant and loan programs including Federal Stafford Student loans and Federal PLUS loans. The College participates in the Academic Management Services Plan and provides the Aquinas College Multiple Payment Plan. These plans assist students in paying costs over a period of time. To apply for financial assistance, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. (FAFSA).
Admission Requirements
Freshman and transfer applications are received on a rolling basis. Transcripts and Standardized test scores must be submitted for review. Special attention is given to curriculum, honors courses and extra curricular involvement. All applicants need to remit a $25 application fee. The admissions office reserves the right to review applications on a case by case basis. Letters of recommendation are encouraged, but not required.
