Marywood is an institution whose academic quality is enhanced by a competitive athletic tradition and a comprehensive recreational program.
Marywood is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC). Pacer sport schedules are challenging and include contests against Division I & II schools encompassing a wide geographic area. Twelve varsity sports are sponsored.
In the past five years our teams have earned nine PAC titles and set several NCAA records. Numerous All Academic and All Conference players have been selected from among our student-athletes. Pacer Pride is prevalent throughout our program and the University community. Marywood is also guided by the belief that recreational opportunities are vital to the collegiate experience. Thus we offer diverse opportunities in this area including a varied selection of more than thirty intramural programs for students and a variety of fitness, martial arts, and recreation classes.
Our facilities complement these athletic and recreational opportunities. The Health and Physical Education Center includes a 25 meter swimming pool, fitness center with free weight machines and aerobic modalities, racquetball courts, aerobic room, gymnasium, saunas, and training room. As evidence of our commitment to sports, we recently developed two new multipurpose athletic fields. Additional outdoor facilities include tennis courts, a running course, a sand volleyball courts, and basketball courts.
